Here are the EAC peak levels and Dynamic Range Meter DR values for each CD:Īlgorithmix TT DR: CD value: 13 track values: 14/15/15/14/13/11/13Īlgorithmix TT DR: CD value: 13 track values: 14/14/14/13/12/10/13 I suspected a level shift, but I could not get the tracks to sync up in Goldwave. However, I was surprised to find that they are different masterings. Both had identical artwork on the discs, booklets and liners. The first disc was pressed in 1994 and the other in 1991. Unfortunately, one of the songs on my first copy of Autumn refused to rip properly so I bought another copy a few days ago. This music moves me and that's what matters. It doesn't bother me in the slightest that Winston might not be a virtuoso, as many online commenters like to claim. I'm not a new-agey person but I enjoy this music very much. The landscape photography and even the typeface speak to me. The cover art drew me in, much like the cover of December. I picked up a copy of the 'un-remastered' Autumn CD a few months back. I've enjoyed it every holiday season since, yet I hadn't got around to any other Winston albums until this year. To me, that album had an uncanny ability to evoke feelings of peaceful reflection and tranquility in me. I've been a fan of George Winston since I first heard selections from December on the radio in the mid '80s.
